Burkina Faso, el pa\u00eds de los hombres \u00edntegros, un estado en el interior del \u00c1frica Occidental, pobre en t\u00e9rminos econ\u00f3micos, pero rico en cultura. En su capital, Ouagadougou se celebren dos de los acontecimientos culturales m\u00e1s importantes del Continente, el SIAO, Sal\u00f3n Internacional de Artesan\u00eda, y el FESPACO, Festival Panafricano de Cine y Televisi\u00f3n de Ouagadougou. El pa\u00eds era denominado Alto Volta hasta 1984, entonces su presidente, Thomas Sankara, l\u00edder revolucionario promovi\u00f3 pol\u00edticas progresistas y cambi\u00f3 el nombre al actual, Burkina Faso, que en su idioma significa la tierra de los hombres \u00edntegros.
Aunque el idioma oficial es el franc\u00e9s, convive con varias lenguas locales, reflejo de la diversidad \u00e9tnica. Su clima es \u00e1rido, especialmente el Norte, se enfrenta a la desertizaci\u00f3n debido al cambio clim\u00e1tico y al avance del desierto del Sahara. Pese a ello, cuenta con una fauna muy diversa y algunos interesantes parques y reservas naturales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
